Our Successors

It's true that the more companies close, the more textile specialists become scarce; don't stop at this sole observation! They are coming from abroad, they are more and more, and they are better equipped. Engineers, Project Managers, Technical Services Directors, Product Development Specialists, Production Managers, Dyeing Supervisors, etc.

Last week, a Yarn Specialist (technical/BCF & extrusion) came for a visit and we presented him to 3 manufacturers, either to assist them as consultant, or simply to join one of these companies on a full-time basis. At the end of his visits, this young man from France found a home to bring wife and children back early June.

Composites, plastics, technical textiles (2 specialists want to settle here), and their resume is very evocative. We can't enumerate all of them, but our backup is here, it has been trained better than ever and immigration papers are already filled. Our supply sources have been tried and tested every day after many years of contacts around the world. So, anyone interested?

Recently, we made a search for time & motion study specialists and we identified a few; our client filled his position and other candidates as interesting are now listed in our databanks. We seldom have such requests these days...

Anniversaries - Préventex and CSMO Textile

Our friends at Préventex celebrated their 25th Anniversary last April 27th in Montreal at their Annual General Meeting. The event was cordial and pleasant, all the more because they had gathered together the first figures of this illustrious institution. Health and Safety at Work - a well-developed value and a success altogether. Congratulations!

As for the "Comité sectoriel de main d'oeuvre de l'industrie textile du Québec", they will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary at their Public Annual General Meeting on Friday, June 9th at the Hôtel Le Dauphin in Drummondville. This event promises to be full of surprises!

Our best wishes to both these organizations certainly essential to our industry!

Sustainable Development

The first meeting of this Sustainable Development Working Committee was held last April 28th. Eight people representing the textile and garment manufacturers, a sectorial organization, a leading university figure, our Sustainable Development consultant and myself make up this first working committee for the sector. It's too early yet to inform you of the discussions; we will get the work started and let you know when we have concrete realizations. One thing for sure is that ideas and dynamism were also present at this first meeting! Our next meeting is scheduled for June 16th.
